In The Kitchen With Elloise

From the beginning of Term 1, 7K have known about our muffin assignment. And over the past 2-3 weeks, we have been finalising our ingredient list for the assessment date. I wanted to choose a type of muffin that would be delicious to eat, a muffin that would not be too complicated (for a amateur cook like me), a muffin that could be completely prepared in under and hour and a muffin that my partner could honestly judge without having to worry about not liking the textures or taste and not have to worry about allergies......
This lead me to one of my FAVOURITE types of muffin - Orange & Poppyseed.

Firstly, I went to the school Library, desperately searching for a recipe that would fit my requirements. However I had no luck. I also tried looking in magazines and cook-books that we had at home...still no luck. Finally, I stumbled across a website with over 1 million different recepies. One of them being just the one I needed!

Then, all I had to do was print off my recipe and hand it into Mrs King. At that stage, all seemed good and well. Unfortunately, today (17 May) Mrs King told me that I hadn't included the standard base that 7K students HAD to use - I was handing in a completely new recipe. Originally, we thought that I would have to find a new muffin recipe, but after some discussions with Mrs King, we both found a way to 'adapt' and 'merge' the two recipes into one - my extras and the our class's main base.

So far, this experience has been quite challenging. However I feel, when I start to cook my muffins, and if I follow the recipe extremely carefully...my muffins will turn out to be fantastic!
